The upcoming PokerStars Sunday Special Live is already a pretty good value. For just a $220 buy-in, players will get their shot at a piece of a $100,000 prize pool.

However, players can get in to the October live event for just a couple of bucks if they take the time to play satellites on PokerStars NJ.

More on the PokerStars NJ MEGASTACKS live event

The PokerStars Sunday Special Live is part of the company’s new MEGASTACKS tour umbrella. These one-off live tournaments are not high buy-in series for the likes of Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu. Rather, they are small buy-in, big guarantee events that run over a single weekend.

The event in Atlantic City will run at Resorts Casino, PokerStars’ brick and mortar NJ casino partner. From Oct. 6-8, the property will host both the $220 buy-in Main Event and a $120 buy-in deep-stack tournament.

The Main Event features four starting flights spread across two days. On Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 there will be 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Day 1 flights. Then, on Sunday, Oct. 8 the fields combine to play down to a winner.

Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker is going to be at Resorts playing the event. He commented via press release about why he is so excited for this event:

“This is an everyman event suitable for everyone’s pocket. As well as the excellent organization that goes hand in hand with a PokerStars event, the promise of a decent tournament structure and a $125,000 guarantee makes this a must-play event.”

Online satellites for event include freerolls and Spin & Gos

There are a number of satellite options available on the PokerStars NJ online poker site. Starting Sept. 11, the site is running daily freerolls into $20 and $30 satellites. There are also special $2.50 Spin & Gos offering seats into the Main Event.

The satellite tournaments feature buy-ins as low as $.50. Or, you can take part in scheduled Mega Satellite tournaments throughout September and October.

If you are an out-of-towner who does not think a single live tournament merits a trip to the Garden State, this might change your mind. While the live tournament runs at Resorts, the 2017 NJ Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP) will be in full swing too.

The full schedule for the series is not out yet, but the dates are. NJCOOP gets underway on Saturday, Sept. 30, and continues through until Monday, October 16. The guarantee on this tournament series totals $1.2 million, which certainly sweetens the pot when it comes to the site’s fall online and live poker offerings.
