The unassuming accountant from Atlanta, Ga., defied the odds back in 2003 and turned a satellite ticket into the American Dream. After carving his way through a stacked field in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event, Moneymaker found himself heads-up against veteran pro Sammy Farha.

Put simply, the US poker industry owes a debt of gratitude to Moneymaker. Were it not for his win, the game may not have caught the interest of the masses, and we may not be where we are today.

Although players and industry insiders have thanked Moneymaker over the years, PokerStars doesn’t think that’s enough. To mark the 15^th anniversary of the win that changed poker, PokerStars has created the Moneymaker PSPC Tour. Kicking off on Aug. 4 and traveling across the US, the new tournament series will cater specifically for those that dare to dream.

The Moneymaker PSPC Tour will consist of nine tournaments. To ensure the action is accessible to all levels, the buy-ins will be an affordable $86. Of course, that’s not a coincidence. Prior to the start of the 2003 WSOP, Moneymaker won his seat in the Main Event for less than $100.

For many, that’s one of the most successful parlays of all time.
