A Purge Of Games At NJ Online Casinos Won’t Leave You Empty Handed

NJ online casinos

November brought a lot of changes to the majority of NJ online casinos.

Most notably was the deletion of a large number of games from seven of those casinos: Betfair, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Mohegan Sun, Pala, Resorts and SugarHouse.

Most likely this change was due to a purge of underperforming slots or the expiration of a contract/licensing deal with a content provider. But no need to worry. All but three added new games at NJ online casinos, so you’ll have plenty to check out in the coming weeks while the weather has you housebound.

Let’s take a look at what’s new.

888 Casino

In October, 888 Casino left players bereft of anything new but made up for it in November by adding 35 new games, including one new blackjack option (Atlantic Blackjack Pro). The casino now sports 235 total games, including 221 slots, four blackjack variations, five video poker games and five table games.

Of the 34 new slot titles, some harken back to history:

  • Asgardian Stones
  • Excalibur
  • Hercules
  • King of Atlantis
  • Olympus Thunder

Others focused on the animal kingdom:

  • Elephant King
  • King Kong Fury
  • Monkey Prince
  • Wildcat Canyon

And some are just plain fun:

  • Egg-O-Matic
  • Fantastic Fireworks
  • Hotline
  • Icy Wilds
  • Jumanji

Be sure to check them all out!

Betfair

Betfair Casino is another NJ online casino that didn’t increase the size of its gaming library in October and lost 16 slot titles during November. But Betfair made up for part of that loss by bringing on 10 new slot titles in the last month.

Betfair now sits squarely in the middle of the pack with a total of 366 games. You’ll find 14 different table games, 11 video poker options, seven blackjack variations and 334 slot titles available to you.

This month, bringing the heat are the slot games Flame and Fantastic Fireworks. A sexy redhead is a character behind Flame, a slot from NextGen that has seven mini-features, including:

  • Fire Whirl: Win bonus prizes
  • Spontaneous Combustion: Win upgraded symbols
  • Cross Flare: Pays both directions
  • Wild Inferno: Held wild respins
  • Firestorm: Wild and bonus merged
  • Flare Up: Wins are multiplied up to 10x
  • Live Embers: Guaranteed wilds

Fantastic Fireworks has its share of unusual features as well, such as Floating Reels, Exploding Symbols and a Rocket Meter, which can launch two bonus features. The Rocket Meter requires you to collect 20 Sparklers during regular reel play or get one Bonus Rocket symbol on the reels. Once you fill the meter, you will either get the Free Spins Bonus or the Cannon Bonus.

Both games are fun and entertaining, with lots of bells and whistles and the opportunity to win often.

Borgata

Borgata’s online casino has been pretty consistent, with eight games added in October and another 10 in November, bringing its total to 375. It’s unlikely that the casino will break the 400-mark by the end of the year, but it’s on track to hit it in the first quarter of 2019.

The newest of its 354 slots are:

  • Baking Bonanza
  • Berry Burst
  • Berry Burst Max
  • Coins of Egypt
  • Ghost Pirates
  • Jackpot Jester 200,000
  • One Red Cent Deluxe
  • Pride of Egypt
  • Slingo Carnival
  • Solar Disc

Caesars

In November, Caesars took the biggest hit when it came to purging games, losing 76 titles. They’re down five blackjack variations, seven video poker games, one table game, and 63 slots. The good news is that Caesars is rebuilding, adding 19 new titles in November and bringing its gaming library to a very respectable 455 games.

The newest titles feature warriors, pirates, llamas and ligers (yes, ligers):

  • Warrior Maiden: With 720 ways to win and a Free Spins Bonus game that can be retriggered up to 240 games, this could be your new favorite.
  • Ghost Pirates: Looking very much like a movie poster for Pirates of the Caribbean, this slot has 243 ways to win and wacky characters like One-Eyed Ed, Peggy Rotten, and the Mad Monkey.
  • Dollar Llama: This game is about as cutesy as its name and features Stacked Wilds, a Scatter Bucks feature and a Free Spins Bonus.
  • Liger Loot: This fun game features symbols where two different animals are combined into one, making for some freaks of nature. The Loot Line feature offers an additional way to win on each spin, and there’s also the Liger Lair’s Bonus, which awards 5x to 25x your bet.

Golden Nugget

In October, Golden Nugget’s NJ online casino broke the 600-mark but experienced a bit of backsliding due to the purge.

The top online casino ended November with 12 new slot titles and a total of 553 games in its library. Golden Nugget is still the undisputed leader when it comes to the size of their offerings, with its closest competitor having 503. It also leads in the number of slots (503), blackjack variations (15), video poker options (17) and table games (18). Pretty impressive.

Golden Nugget’s newest titles are:

  • All That Cash
  • Berry Burst
  • Berry Burst Max
  • Cool Loot
  • Dollar Llama
  • Goddess of Valhalla
  • Liger Loot
  • Lucky Links Beats
  • Pride of Egypt
  • Slingo Carnival
  • Soldier of Rome
  • When Pigs Fly

Hard Rock

One of the newest of the NJ online casinos, Hard Rock came out of the gate running with more than 250 titles but has slowed its roll since that time.

For the second month in a row, only one new game debuted, bringing its total gaming library to 266, including 264 slots and two blackjack variations.

Hard Rock’s lone addition is Wild Play Super Bet, a classic game featuring fruit and 450 paylines. The game also features a Super Bet Bonus, where you can wager a bit more to add a multiplier option, making Wilds even more beneficial.

Mohegan Sun/Resorts

Sister sites Mohegan Sun and Resorts are making a run at leader Golden Nugget, adding nine new games in October and another 16 games in November.

They now have 501/503 total games, respectively. Still about 50 shy of the top position, they’ve been very consistent every month with additions, but like Golden Nugget, they both had a purge of 59 games in November.

New titles this month are:

  • Berry Burst
  • Berry Burst MAX
  • Cool Loot
  • Dollar Llama
  • Ghost Pirates
  • Jenson Matlock & the Gold Peacock
  • Kingdoms Edge
  • Money Rain
  • Olympus Thunder
  • Pride of Egypt
  • Reel Steal
  • Slingo Carnival
  • Snow Monkeys
  • Swipe and Roll
  • Wild Play Super Bet
  • Witchcraft Academy

Ocean Online Casino

Our other new addition to the online scene in New Jersey, Ocean Resort has been slow to add games but picked up the pace in November with 10 new additions. The casino is still one of the smaller online casinos, with only 132 games, including three blackjack variations and 129 slots.

Amongst its newest slot titles are:

  • Jumanji: A take on the popular 1995 and 2017 movies of the same name, this game is loaded with features and multiple bonus games. There’s the Sticky Vines feature, Monsoon Wilds, Monkey Mayhem and the Wild Stampede. Each feature also has a Free Spins game that comes into play when you get to the Jumanji Board Game. This game is a whole lotta fun with an RTP of 96.33 percent.
  • Rawhide: With a Wild West theme, this slot features Action. Stacked Symbols and a Free Spins Bonus Game, where you will get 10-25 spins. All spins during this round pay double (2X) and the feature can also be retriggered.
  • Red Fortune: This Asian inspired-game features Action Stacked Wilds, a Wild Multiplier and a Free Games Bonus. The Wild, denoted by a Chinese character, turns into a 2x or 3x multiplier in the Free Games Bonus round, which can make for some big wins.

BetMGM

This NJ online casino continues to regularly add to its gaming library.

In October, BetMGM online casino added eight new slot titles, and in November, the casino bumped that up by 10 more, bringing the overall gaming total to 391. BetMGM just might reach the 400-mark in December!

You’ll find 370 slots, four blackjack variations, 12 video poker options and five table games on the site.

Meanwhile, among its latest and greatest are three titles straight out of the kitchen:

  • Berry Burst: Unlike traditional paylines, this game uses Cluster Pays, where you need five identical symbols to appear adjacent to one another, vertically or horizontally. You’ll also find Expanding Wilds a Respin feature that allows you to get paid for any wins prior to and after a respin.
  • Berry Burst Max: This is Berry Burst on steroids with a phenomenal max payout of $1,000,000. You get the same Cluster Pays, Expanding Wilds and Respins, as well as a return-to-player percentage of 96.23 percent.
  • Baking Bonanza: Your goal is to collect all the correct ingredient symbols to bake the cake displayed on the screen. Much like Slingo games, one bet will provide multiple spins — in this case, five. During each spin, usable ingredients are placed next to their respective cake recipes. At the end of five spins, you’ll win any cakes that are completed. If you’re close to a win, you have the option to buy extra spins to complete recipes.

Tropicana and Virgin

These sister casinos both added two new games in November, one more than they did in October. Since they had no purges, they are left with 244 and 237 total games, respectively. The two new titles are:

  • Berry Burst: This game uses Cluster Pays, where you need five identical symbols to appear adjacent to one another, vertically or horizontally, in order to score a win. Symbols include red ripe raspberries, grapes, orange slices and limes, as well as diamonds, hearts and spades. There’s also a Wild in the form of an ice cube that can substitute for any symbol, which can appear on all five reels in both the main game and in any Respins that might occur. When a Wilds lands on a reel in the main game, it will automatically expand to cover the entire reel and will activate a Respin. But the best thing about this is that you get paid for any wins prior to and after a Respin, so you can win two or more times on one spin. This also lends itself to covering the whole screen, all five reels, in Wilds.
  • Coins of Egypt: You’ll find both a Free Spins Bonus and the Pharaoh Coin feature on this slot. The Pharaoh Coin feature occurs during the main game, and you’ll find that one to three coins (with values ranging from 2x to 15x your bet) can appear on reels one, two and/or three attached to a regular symbol. All coins visible are collected if the Pharaoh symbol appears on reel five. The Free Spins feature is triggered by the rotating orb. You’ll need three to enter the round, and they will appear on reels one-three-five. During your free spins, you’ll collect Ruby Eagle Seals, Emerald Snake Seals and Golden Cat Seals, which appear on reel five. Each time you land one, it’s collected in a chest. Once three identical chest seals are collected, your Free Spins will end and you’ll be awarded the amount that appears on the chests.

Pala

While Pala added 18 games during the month of October, it was all quiet on the eastern front in November.

No new games, and the casino lost 16 titles in the purge. Pala now has 266 slots, four blackjack variations, eight video poker options and five table games, for a grand total of 283 games.

SugarHouse

SugarHouse is in the same boat as Pala, purging 15 games and adding no new titles in November, after adding nine in October. The online casino is still near the top with 463 gaming titles, including 436 slots, five blackjack variations, 15 video poker and seven table games.

Harrah’s

For the umpteenth month in a row, Harrah’s has not added any additional games. No new slots, blackjack, video poker or table games. Its library remains at 103 titles.
