The PokerStars New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) is returning to the Garden State in May, guaranteeing more than $1.2 million.

The series will feature 35 events, each split into a low and high buy-in event for a total of 70 tournaments.

NJSCOOP runs from May 6-22.

About SCOOP

The PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker is one of the most popular poker tournament series in the online calendar.

SCOOP runs each tournament at a variety of buy-in levels, meaning that the events are not just restricted to high rollers. All levels of tournament run simultaneously.

Each event in the global SCOOP tournament series features a low, medium, and high buy-in event.

For example, a typical SCOOP event may have buy-ins of $22, $215, and $2,100 to choose from. However, even the lower buy-in events typically generate huge prize pools.

NJSCOOP – the best bits

NJSCOOP features a host of tournaments with more than $20,000 guaranteed. All high events have a smaller counterpart, with a buy-in roughly one-tenth the size:

• H-Event #2 $150 Progressive SuperKO ($25,000 guaranteed)
• H-Event #3 $300 Sunday Special ($85,000 guaranteed)
• H-Event #18 $350 Sunday Special ($65,000 guaranteed)
• H-Event #20 $300 6-max Turbo ($25,000 guaranteed)
• H-Event #21 $300 4-max ($40,000 guaranteed)
• H-Event #23 $300 No Limit Hold’em ($30,000 guaranteed)
• H-Event #24 $1,000 6-max High Roller ($85,000 guaranteed)
• L-Event #24 $100 6-max High Roller ($35,000 guaranteed)

All the above events are No Limit Hold’em, but there are a variety of other events including an 8-Game Mix and a Win The Button Omaha variant.

The Main Events

The NJSCOOP series will culminate in a pair of Main Events on Sunday, May 21. Between them, there is $230,000 guaranteed:

• $50 L-Main Event ($30,000 guaranteed)
• $500 H-Main Event ($200,000 guaranteed)

Thanks to the SCOOP format, many players can afford to play in the lower buy-in events.
