NJ Online Casino Heavy Hitters Of March 2019

We’re finally into March and MLB spring training is in full swing at ballparks in Florida and Arizona. While we might not get to see our favorite sluggers hit one out of the park, we can see which NJ online casino(s) are batting a thousand and which ones are striking out.

So, let’s take a look at the rookies and the old-timers and see who’s leading the pack.

New team in town

Bryce Harper wasn’t the only one who joined a new team … BetAmerica, an online presence in racing (Churchill Downs) and online sports betting, is currently building an online casino. It’ll be offering slots, blackjack, table games, keno and bingo.

So far, BetAmerica added 88 games, including 75 slot titles, two blackjack variations, two table games and nine video poker options.

What’s of the most interest is its slot options. As of this writing, about 20 percent of the titles came in two versions: regular and high limit.

Among those offerings are popular games like Crazy Money, Elephant King, Grand Monarch, Pixies of the Forest, Triple Red Hot 7, Gypsy Riches, and Da Vinci Dual Play.

We expect to give you more information on this casino in next month’s report, once it opens the gates for business.

Home run

SugarHouse is the only NJ online casino to hit a home run this month, adding 17 new games that are all slot titles. And that’s after adding 24 new games the previous month.

Those big additions moved the casino up to tie for third place in the NJ online casino league. At this rate, it may leapfrog to No. 2 next month.

The new slots are:

  • Anchorman
  • Bars and Bells
  • Berry Burst Max
  • Diamond Tower
  • Flame
  • Frogs n Flies
  • Golden Gladiator
  • Jackpot Jester Wild Nudge
  • Kings Honour
  • Lawless Love
  • Legend of the White Buffalo
  • Slingo Reveal
  • Shields of the Wild
  • Snow Monkeys
  • Sphinx Wild
  • The Legacy of Cleopatra’s Palace
  • Wild Bazaar
  • Xing Guardian

Total game count at SugarHouse now stands at 520, including 493 slots, five blackjack variations, 14 video poker and eight table games.

Heavy hitters

Alex Rodriguez was well known for his years as a Yankee, wearing No. 13.

Betfair hit that number last month in new games. It added another live dealer American blackjack table and an unlimited blackjack live game.

There were also 11 new slots available to players, including:

  • Bar X Colossal: A retro-themed game consisting of five reels, three lines and 5five paylines. You’ll find old-style Bars, 7s, Xs, as well as a Wild symbol. The center three reels lock together to form Colossal symbols that can pay well.
  • Golden Egypt: A five reel/25 payline game with expanding Wilds, a Player Decision Free Spins Bonus and a new feature called Wild Stays Two Plays. For every Gold Coin you get, it transfers to a slot above the reel it lands on. When you get two coins above a reel, that reel will completely turn Wild for your next two spins. Often you’ll get two reels that will become Wild at the same time, making for some nice wins.
  • Slingo Fortunes: The latest in a long line of Bingo-slot hybrid games. This one has an Asian spin, with each square sporting a red envelope containing a cash prize. Your goal is to get rid of the envelopes with the lowest cash prizes, leaving the larger amounts for your win.
  • Wild Bazaar: Wilds play a significant role in this slot, which takes place in a Middle Eastern bazaar. You want to get three or more matching chest symbols on consecutive paylines to win one of four Wild Spin features, which include Stacked Wilds, Colossal Wilds, Linked Wilds and 2x Multiplier Wilds.

Golden Nugget, with the biggest roster of games, added seven new titles in the last month, including one new table game (baccarat). The new slots are:

  • Golden Gladiator
  • Great Moai
  • Triple Raven
  • Tumbling Together
  • Vikings
  • Wild Streets

GN comes into March with the most slot titles (540), the most blackjack variations (15), the most video poker options (17), and the most table games (19). This all adds up to a whopping 591 games, meaning that it will probably hit 600 total games during March.

Barely safe with the bunt

Mohegan Sun, and sister casino Resorts, just barely made it on base with the addition of two games apiece. While they sit in the No. 4 and No. 2 spot, respectively, they have a long way to go to catch up to our NJ online casino leader.

Mohegan has 521 total games, while Resorts has 527. Its latest additions are:

  • Soaring Stallion: This is a linked progressive slot with an Asian theme. You get to choose your bonus when it comes to free games, with choices ranging from 20 spins with 2x/3x/5x multipliers to five spins with 10x/15x/30x multipliers.
  • Vikings: Based on the History Channel’s hit series, this game features all the main characters, and has multiple bonus features, including Hot Spot Scatter Pays, Raid Spins and a Shield Wall. Best of all, the max payout is $1,000,000.

Tropicana and Virgin both netted one new game each during February. This was the result of losing two slot titles, but gaining one blackjack variation and two table games:

  • Blackjack classic
  • European roulette
  • French roulette

Tropicana now has 247 games, while Virgin has 241.

Taking the walk

It’s a slower go at Borgata, which has a net increase of zero games. That being said, there was a little purge, leaving room for five new titles.

This means that Borgata maintains its gaming library of 392, including 370 slots, six blackjack varieties, 12 video poker games and four table games.

Its newest slot replacements are:

  • Anchorman
  • Fortunes of the Amazons
  • Leonidas King of the Spartans
  • Slingo Reveal
  • Vikings

Caesars is in the same boat, having purged games while adding more. The result is a net decrease of two games in its library. Even so, Caesars still sits in the upper-third of the pack in gaming totals with 479 total.

That includes 449 slots, five blackjack varieties, 15 video poker and 10 table games.

New slot additions include:

  • Anchorman
  • Astro Cat
  • China Shores Quick Strike Online
  • Shikibu
  • Slingo Reveal

PlayMGM is the third casino to purge and add games last month, coming into March with one less game than it started with the month before. PlayMGM’s latest additions are:

  • Anchorman
  • Fortunes of the Amazons
  • Leonidas King of the Spartans
  • Slingo Reveal
  • Vikings

The total gaming library at playMGM stands at 407, with 385 slots, five each of blackjack and table games, and 12 video poker titles.

Hard Rock added eight video poker and table games in January, but one one table game in February (baccarat). So, it’s going to be a slow slog to 300 at the pace it is going.

It ended February with 275 total games, including 264 slots, three blackjack options, five video poker variations and four table games.

Striking out

888 Casino added no new games during the month of February and continues its spot in the bottom thirds of all NJ online casinos, in respect total number of games offered. It currently has 237 slots, four blackjack variations, five video poker options and five table games, for a total of 251 games.

Ocean Resort online casino felt the sting of the sale/change of ownership of its land-based sister, Ocean Resort Casino. Due to the turmoil, no new games were added, and it even lost one slot title. This leaves them with 203 total gaming titles. But all is not lost. March is seeing about two dozen new games making its way onto the site, so there will be plenty of new action for you moving forward.

Pala hasn’t seen any new games make its way onto the site since December, and even lost three slot titles in February, leaving the casino sitting on the bench with 290 games. It is right in the middle of the pack with 273 slot titles, four blackjack variations, eight video poker options and five table games.

Harrah’s has now gone a full year without adding any games to its library, so it’s status quo. If Harrah’s doesn’t step up to the plate, it’ll continue to be at the bottom of the NJ online casino league with its 103 total titles.
