Ocean Resort Online Casino Preview

Editor’s note: Ocean Resort has yet to launch its online casino. View currently available legal NJ online casinos here.

TEN was the name of the still-shuttered Atlantic City Boardwalk resort and casino originally branded Revel.

Then, on Jan. 8, 2018 it was announced that Colorado developer Bruce Deifik, CEO and president of Integrated Properties, Inc., officially purchased the property. He will rebrand it Ocean Resort Casino and plans to reopen the property in the summer of 2018.

History of the NJ casino formerly known as Revel

In 2007, Revel Entertainment revealed plans to build a $2 billion casino hotel with two-700-foot towers on the property across from the Showboat Casino Hotel and open it up in 2010.

Construction ran into all sorts of issues and the opening date was pushed back several times. On April 2, 2012, Revel opened. Operators filed for bankruptcy within a year.

Revel Casino reopening dateThe hotel and casino was ultimately shut down in September 2014. In 2015, Florida developer Glenn Straub bought it out of bankruptcy court for $82 million. However, Straub ran into numerous issues obtaining the state and local permits to reopen. The property was rebranded as TEN, however relaunch dates were pushed back several times.

The property never reopened under Straub’s stewardship and was sold in January 2018. The new owner, Integrated Properties Inc., have announced a summer 2018 opening with a specific date not disclosed.

TEN operated a social casino site; we assume the new owners will continue to offer this product. In early 2018, Ocean Resort Casino, along with Hard Rock AC, officially applied for NJ online casino licenses. Ocean Resort in particular will partner with software developer GAN to launch its NJ gambling site.

Who will Ocean Resort partner with?

In terms of the licensing side of operating an online casino site, Ocean Resort does not need to seek a partner at all. Online gambling legislation in New Jersey allows existing land-based casinos to apply for online gaming licenses. In fact, Atlantic City casinos are the only ones that can.

Assuming Ocean Resort is eventually granted a land-based casino license in the state, it should be easy enough to extend that to NJ online casino operations.

Games available at Ocean Resort online casino

Any Ocean Resort-branded New Jersey online casino is expected feature the same games available on most New Jersey online casinos. This includes online slots, including progressive jackpot slots.

Players can also expect to find electronic variations of a number of casino games, including:

  • Blackjack
  • Craps
  • Baccarat
  • Roulette

Ocean Resort may want to operate its own online poker client as well. Plus, players can expect the site to run a number of video poker games, including classics like:

  • Jacks or Better
  • Bonus Poker
  • Double Double Bonus Poker
  • Deuces Wild

The software Ocean Resort will use

A heavy player in the New Jersey online casino market, GAN announced in January 2018 that it would be powering the online gambling arm of Ocean Resort Casino.

The social casino website launched by TEN is powered by software provided by GAN. GAN provides the platform for Betfair’s New Jersey online casino and also holds a transactional waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement allowing it to offer real-money online gambling in conjunction with a licensed New Jersey casino.

Once Ocean Resort’s license is approved, the casino hopes to make its mark in a NJ online gambling market that has seen consistent growth.

Will Ocean Resort offer mobile gaming apps?

The Ocean Resort New Jersey online casino will likely offer its own Ocean Resort mobile gaming app. The app is sure to be made available for iOS and Android smartphone and tablet users.

Mobile gaming apps often offer a smaller slate of games than the desktop clients. However, the Ocean Resort mobile gaming app users should have access to a number of slots and table games. In fact, much like others in the New Jersey mobile online gaming market, Ocean Resort should provide regular updates and the addition of new online casino games in New Jersey.

Ocean Resort online casino promo code

Ocean Resort NJ online casino will likely offer new players a no-deposit bonus and first-time depositors some kind of additional matching deposit bonus.

The offer has not yet been released, but players should be able to use a specific online casino NJ promo code to take advantage of whatever bonus is offered when they sign up for an account on the site.

The industry standard has become a 100 percent first deposit bonus of up to at least $100.

The Ocean Resort online casino welcome bonus

New Jersey online casino sites offer bonuses to try to attract new clientele. They also run regular promotions to try to retain them. These range from no deposit bonuses to first deposit bonuses, player loss returns and all kinds of additional deposit bonuses and volume play rewards.

Most of the bonuses come with wagering requirements. Players can expect the Ocean Resort New Jersey online casino site to offer similar bonuses and promotions.

Most online casinos on in New Jersey also offer loyalty programs. These programs reward regular play and without a doubt, the Ocean Resort online casino will offer a free loyalty program to players on the site.

The casino may connect its online program to the land-based rewards program at Ocean Resort. That would allow players to take advantage of cross promotional opportunities online and off.

Ocean Resort May 2018 updates

While the opening date of Ocean Resort Casino still not confirmed (although rumor has it a soft opening is intended for June 28), the new owners are working to right all the wrongs of the previous owners. They’ve listened to the complaints and are working to be more inclusive. No longer catering just to high rollers, the resort will welcome gamblers of all levels, make it attractive to families, offer a buffet as one of the dining options, and will do away with the two-night minimum required stay. Stay tuned for more information in our June update.
