The Trump Taj Mahal will officially become The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City when the property reopens on June 28, 2018.
The Trump Taj Mahal closed in October 2016 and Hard Rock International acquired the property in early 2017. The organization unveiled plans for a $375 million renovation in April.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will include a casino with 2,400 slots and 130 table games. The interior will be redesigned to include Hard Rock International’s uniquely themed design and branding.
Trump Taj Mahal was actually among the first casinos to obtain an NJ online gambling operator’s license. Through a partnership with Ultimate Gaming, a subsidiary of Las Vegas’ Station Casinos, Trump Taj Mahal launched Ultimate Casino in November 2013.
With in a year, Ultimate Gaming pulled out, blaming Trump Taj Mahal’s financial issues.
Other online casino operations have gone on to be great success stories for Atlantic City casinos. So it is no surprise that Hard Rock recently applied for a NJ online gambling license. Shortly thereafter, Hard Rock announced a partnership with online software guru Gaming Innovation Group (GiG). Expect to see Hard Rock’s new gambling site sometime in 2018.
Possible Hard Rock online casino partners
In terms of obtaining a license to operate an online casino site, Hard Rock has no need to find a partner. Online gambling legislation in New Jersey dictates that only licensed land-based casinos can apply for online gaming licenses.
Hard Rock will surely square away a casino license in the state before its June 2018 opening and it should also ensure its ability to go online when the timing is right.
Already a veteran casino operator with its Native American casino properties in Florida, Hard Rock should have no problem obtaining a New Jersey casino license and entering the Atlantic City market. Hard Rock will join other NJ casinos with online arms, include the Golden Nugget, Tropicana, and Borgata.
Possible games available at Hard Rock’s NJ online casino
When Hard Rock enters the market it will likely do so with a lot of similar NJ online casino games as are offered at existing sites. This includes a huge variety of online slots, progressive jackpot slots and a selection of classic casino games, including:
Considering the success poker events have found at the organization’s Florida casino properties, Hard Rock may also develop its own NJ online poker site.
Of course, on the online casino side, Hard Rock is likely to offer a full slate of video poker games. This will probably include:
- Bonus Poker
- Double Double Bonus Poker
- Jacks or Better
- Deuces Wild
The software at a Hard Rock online casino
Hard Rock partnered with GiG in February as part of its plan to launch a NJ gambling site in 2018.
GiG was founded in 2012 and to date has been focused on European iGaming markets. This is its first foray into the still-developing US market.
Other online gaming software partners already operating in the New Jersey market include:
- High 5 Games
- Scientific Games Corporation
- GVC (bwin.party)
Will Hard Rock have an app for phones and tablets?
There’s little doubt a Hard Rock New Jersey online casino will want to enter the market with its own mobile gaming app. Expect the app to be available for smartphone and tablet users on the iOS and Android operating systems.
Hard Rock’s mobile gaming app should provide players all types of slots, table games and video poker options. The app should have a user friendly interface, regularly provide new NJ online casino games, and include Hard Rock’s unique branding signature.
The Hard Rock NJ online casino bonus code
Like most NJ online casinos, the Hard Rock NJ online casino will most likely launch featuring a no-deposit bonus and first-deposit bonus.
These bonuses have not been defined as of yet, but when they are, expect Hard Rock to use a NJ online casino promo code allowing players access to the bonus.
Most of the NJ online casino market offers a 100 percent deposit bonus of up to a minimum of $100. Players should expect at least that from Hard Rock.
Hard Rock’s online welcome bonus
Most New Jersey online casino sites offer bonuses and run regular NJ online gambling promotions. This can include everything from no-deposit and deposit bonuses to specific game challenges.
Players can expect the Hard Rock New Jersey online casino to offer something similar.
New Jersey online casino sites often offer loyalty programs as well, rewarding players for putting in the volume. Hard Rock online casino is a sure bet to offer a loyalty program to its players the same way it does at its land-based casinos.
Hard Rock online casino May 2018 updates
June 28 is the official launch of Hard Rock AC Hotel and Casino, and it’s anticipated that their online site won’t be far behind. Earlier this year, Hard Rock International made an alliance with Malta-based Gaming Innovation Group (GIG). They will be powering their online platform. At this time, regulators are reviewing their licensing application, which is expected to be approved. This means the site will launch right around the same time as the opening. Even better is the fact that they are developing a sports betting site for foreign markets, so should New Jersey win its case—currently in the hands of SCOTUS—they will have a leg up to get online sports betting up and running for Hard Rock’s NJ online casino.
